BRITAIN is braced for flooding today after the Met Office warned several areas will be battered by “severe” rainfall.
Forecasters said homes and businesses could be flooded in parts of Scotland, Wales and Northern England.

Bus and train services are also expected to be hit by delays as the country is drenched today.
Severe “yellow” warnings for rain are in place across parts of Western Scotland as well as Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield.
The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for the River Chew catchment – just outside of Bristol.
Flood alerts are also in place in Exmoor National Park in Devon as well as in Lincoln.

The unsettled autumnal weather is set to continue into the weekend, according to the Met Office.
Outbreaks of rain are expected on Saturday in the far south – but there could be some sunny spells further north.
There could be stronger winds and even coastal gales starting on Sunday, forecasters said.
