NETFLIX joked it will “have to make a documentary” as fans lapped up the explosive WAG war between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy.
Coleen Rooney, right, has accused Rebekah Vardy, left, of leaking stories about her[/caption]
She said she suspected Rebekah, wife of Leicester City’s Jamie, and turned detective to try and find out who was leaking stories “without her permission or knowledge”.
And Coleen’s dramatic accusation – which ended in “It’s ……… Rebekah Vardy’s account” – immediately saw social media go wild with memes.
Netflix’s UK Twitter account was one of the first to reaction to the accusations flying between the two WAGs.
It posted: “We’re going to have to make a documentary about this, aren’t we.”
And others couldn’t help but weigh in, with comedian and TV presenter Richard Osman writing: “I will vote for any political party who agree to immediately give us the rest of the day off so we can follow this Coleen Rooney/Rebekah Vardy thing properly.”
Another account joked: “BREAKING: Scarlett Johansson to play Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy in ‘Instagram take down’.”
Meanwhile historian Alex von Tunzelmann wrote: “I’m only dimly aware of football or Coleen Rooney, and I’d never heard the name Rebekah Vardy before ten minutes ago.
“Now I live for their drama. It’s been a while since we had a good Twitter live soap.”
Another Twitter account shared an image of Wayne Rooney, with the caption: “Rooney and the boys mobbing up for Jamie Vardy.”
The reaction comes after Coleen, a mum-of-four, revealed she had changed her Instagram settings so only a limited number of people could see her posts and then fabricated false tales to see if they were picked up by the Press.
When they were, she decided Rebekah must be the culprit, something the pregnant WAG has strongly denied.
Each of the stories provided to The Sun was put to Coleen’s representatives before publication, and on each occasion they declined to comment.
‘ONE PERSON VIEWED THEM’
Coleen’s original post, which has been “liked” more than 75,000 times, read: “This has been a burden in my life for a few years now and finally I have got to the bottom of it.
“For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories.
“There has been so much information given to them about me, my friends and my family – all without my permission or knowledge.
“After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion.
“To try and prove this, I came up with an idea, I blocked everyone from viewing Instagram except ONE account.
“(Those on my private account must have been wondering why I haven’t had stories on there for a while).
“Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories to see if they made their way into the Sun newspaper.
“It’s been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have been leaked, however I had to. Now I know for certain which account/individual it’s come from.
