PIERS Morgan today sparked outrage on Good Morning Britain with an extraordinary impersonation of Greta Thunberg.
The outspoken presenter was slamming civil disobedience group Extinction Rebellion when he launched a bizarre imitation of the 16-year-old climate activist.
“How dare you, how dare you?” Morgan said in a mock Greta voice. “You have stolen my morning, you have stolen my airtime. I have no life. How dare you?”
Morgan, 54, was using some of the Swedish activist’s rhetoric from an impassioned speech at the UN Climate Action Summit, when Greta accused those present – including Donald Trump – of “stealing my dreams, my childhood”.
But Twitter users blasted Morgan take, calling him a “d***”.
Thotbitha wrote: “Wtf! Just heard and seen a grown man taking the piss out of Greta who is trying to make a difference in this world and who wants to save it. @piersmorgan you’re a d***!”
Lucinda commented: “How dare Piers Morgan mock Greta Thunberg, why do @GMB give him the time of day and pay him for his disgusting comments. I’ll stick to @BBCNews thanks”.
Using the hashtag “missingthepointentirely”, Daisydewdrop18 added: “@Piers_Morgan ranting because ER protesters got something to eat at McDonald’s and tries to imitate Greta Thunberg’s pleas to the UN….what a moron.”
Morgan has repeatedly taken aim at Greta, including days ago when the Swedish trailblazer was tipped to win the Nobel Peace Price.
He tweeted then: “What’s she done for peace, exactly? She’s got just very very angry about climate change, abused loads of adults & terrified millions of children.”
Before this morning’s attack on Greta, Morgan had been blasting Extinction Rebels to co-host Susanna Reid.
He stormed: “I’m glad it rained yesterday because that lot needed a goddamn shower.
“These people went to McDonald’s to eat mass-produced beef out of cardboard boxes… they are shameless hypocrites, going to the epicentre of fast food.
“We all want to save the planet… I’m not lying on the floor screaming, going to McDonald’s.. generally behaving like imbeciles…
“People hate them.”
Extinction Rebellion are currently on Day 2 of their action to raise awareness about claimte change.
