ANNE Sacoolas is facing calls from top Brit officials to return to the UK and answer questions in relation to the death of a 19-year-old.

Harry Dunn, from Branbury, died close to a military ‘spy’ base used by the US Air Force. How is this linked to Mrs Sacoolas?

Who is Anne Sacoolas?

Anne is the wife of a US diplomat.

The 42-year-old, born Anne Elizabeth Goodwin, is from South Carolina.

She graduated from South Aiken High School before going on to study psychology at the University of South Carolina.

Anne was working for the US State Department in Washington, when she married, but it is not clear what role she had.

A lawyer acting as a spokesperson for the family of Harry Dunn told the Mail on Sunday that the woman’s husband, who was already reported to be a diplomat, was a senior spy based in the UK.

“He was working at Croughton, which is a communications base, so he was working with intelligence which is, I guess, why it has been handled in the way that it has,” said Radd Seiger.

The pair have three children together.

How is Anne linked to the death of Harry Dunn?

Anne is a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash which took place on August 27.

Harry, 19, died after his motorbike collided with a car close to RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire, a military base used by the US Air Force.

The US embassy confirmed Anne was driving the car.

Reports claim she was driving on the wrong side of the road when she crashed head on, into Harry.

Anne has now fled Britain, claiming diplomatic immunity.

Has Anne cooperated with the investigation of Harry’s death?

Anne initially cooperated with police but later claimed diplomatic immunity and left the UK.

She was able to do so after a special deal was put in place between the UK and the US which gives diplomats and their families based at RAF Croughton diplomatic immunity.

Usually, diplomatic immunity only covers those diplomats and their dependants based in London, reported Sky News.

The special arrangement has been in place as early as 1994 for this particular base.

Sky News reported that the alleged driver was advised to leave the UK by the American Embassy.

An attempt by Northamptonshire Police to stop her leaving was declined, and the US Embassy has confirmed she’s no longer in the UK.
