A RAGING learner pulled the L-plates off his car and drove off alone in a strop after being told he had failed his test.

But his tantrum came to a swift end as cops pulled him over and seized the car.

A learner pulled his L-plates off his Mini Cooper, pictured, and drove off without his instructor in a fit of rage after learning that he had failed his driving test

Officers had been tipped off by the examiner and waited for him on the A50 in Derby.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted a snap of the impounded Mini Cooper and said: “Throws his teddy out the pram at the test centre, ripping L-plates off, jumping in the car and driving away.

“Heading home to Leicester we waited for him. Stopped, vehicle recovered and reported to court.”

One follower commented: “Oh dear, points on his licence before he’s even got a full one, not a great start.

“Will bump up his insurance if he bothers buying any? You might run in to this fella again.”

The incident on Saturday came after a cop tweeting anonymously told of stopping a car doing 118mph with two kids under six in the back.

He said: “His excuse was, ‘My kids need the toilet’.”

HIGH-WAY TO HELL

A LAD was on a real high after passing his driving test — and failed a drugs test hours later.

Lincolnshire-based Sgt Mike Templeman tweeted: “So you work hard to pass your test only to give a positive reading for cannabis when stopped by the police 8hrs later.

“Unbelievable. A DL is a privilege not a right.”
