‘Serious incident’ at BBC radio 1Xtra Event in Birmingham as police and ambulances rush to the scene

BBC RADIO 1Xtra in Birmingham has called off its event after a serious incident took place.

Police and ambulances rushed to the scene after reports of a suspected stabbing emerged.

Radio 1 Press Office tweeted: “Following an isolated serious incident, we have had to stop 1Xtra Live in Birmingham. We are co-operating fully with the police to establish what has happened.”

The news came as a shock to many music fans and instantly became trending on Twitter.

Rapper Krept, of Krept & Konan, is feared to be the victim of the alleged stabbing backstage, however reports of this are unconfirmed.

Fans took to Twitter after hearing about the ordeal.

One person wrote: “Yeah Krept definitely got stabbed still but hopefully it’s nothing too serious..”

While another wrote: “Apparently Krept got stabbed in the leg BACKSTAGE at 1Xtra… what kind of shit security have they hired that people are walking in with knives in the first place.”
