A SHOPPING centre in Manchester has been evacuated as cops rush to the scene today.

Locals reportedly were seen running from the Arndale centre.

It is unclear exactly what has happened.

A number of people have taken to social media to express concern.

One person wrote: “Well something is kicking off in town.

“Everyone running around the Arndale saying theirs (sic) a knife. Loads of running and screaming.

“Now outside relaxing with a brew and loads of riot police are here.”

Another added: “Two bomb disposal vans, 6 matrix vans and hundreds of police have just stormed the arndale centre and an evacuation in place”

Manchester Police have been approached for comment.
