TWO girls arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 81-year-old have today been released without charge.
Officers were called to an address in Wisbech, on Saturday, to reports of an elderly man in cardiac arrest. He died at the scene.
Cambridgeshire Police said a post-mortem examination has now been carried out and it concluded that the pensioner died from natural causes.
The force said no further action will be taken against the girls, aged 14 and 16, who were arrested as part of the investigation.
A 12-year-old girl and a man of 20 were also arrested in connection with the incident and were released with no further action earlier this week, police said.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
The man who died was named locally as Patrick Marron and neighbours described him as an “absolutely fantastic” grandfather who had lived alone.
