A YOUNG couple who disappeared on their way to a Halloween party died “cradling” each other, an inquest heard.
Zaiga Gravenieks, 20, and Charlie Eccleston, 19, had left a note saying: “Our souls will never live without each other.”


They were later found hanged in woods near Shenley, Herts, in 2017.
Detective Constable Ian Waldock said Zaiga was “cradling” Charlie with her arm over his shoulder. A tree nearby had been painted with a black heart.
A search for the couple was launched after they were last seen on Halloween in 2017.
Their bodies were found in woodland on the outskirts of Shenley after family members desperately appealed for help after they vanished.
Dr Matilda Ralph, who ecorded their cause of death as asphxiation. Old self harm scars were also found on the couple.

Ms Gravenieks, who was studying music at Bedford College, had several facial piercings and dyed black hair.
Mr Eccleston was a member of a band called Dessert Smoker which released an album at the end of September.
The inquest has been adjourned.
