A WOMAN has been stabbed to death in her home in Enfield, north London.
The victim, in her 40s, was found seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “A murder investigation has been launched in Enfield after a woman was fatally attacked at a residential address.
“Police were called at 7.23pm on Saturday, September 28, to a seriously injured woman at an address on Tennyson Close in Enfield.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a woman in her 40s suffering stab injuries.
“She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.”
The suspect, 28, remains in custody. No-one else is being sought in relation to the murder, police said. The Met said the woman’s next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination and formal identification will take place in due course.
