A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a cop was seriously injured in a hit-and-run.
Officer Christopher Burnham, who was trying to stop a Mini in Coventry, suffered a fractured skull, bleed on the brain and shattered knee.

The married dad, with the force for 25 years, is critically ill in hospital.
West Midlands Police have charged Tekle Lennox, 37, with attempted murder, driving while banned and without insurance.
He is due before city JPs on Monday.
Chief Superintendent Mike O’Hara said: “It is completely unacceptable for a police officer to be injured in the line of duty.
“We will be offering the officer and his family our full support.
Pc Burnham is “very well-regarded” by colleagues and faces a “long road to recovery”.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “One ambulance and one paramedic officer were sent to the scene.
“On arrival they found a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian.”

The officer is the second from the force to be run over while on duty in just a matter of weeks.
