The weather warning covers Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Bangor, Swansea and Cardiff.

Brits in those areas are braced to expect flooding and spray on the roads is likely to cause travel chaos – according to the forecasters.

Interruption to power supplies is also likely and could cause power cuts as the weather takes a turn for the worst.

A spokesperson for the Met Office told Sun Online that Friday will see blustery showers, with some thundering but the onslaught looks to subside over Saturday morning.

The spokesperson said: “Saturday will see less showers than Friday but still a fair bit of rain.”

We’ll see a wet and windy start to Sunday, with the yellow weather warning in place from 6pm Saturday to 5pm Sunday.

Seven flood warnings are also in place as the tail-end of Hurricane Humberto continues to batter the UK, bringing travel chaos.

The Met Office has urged Brits to take care as gale-force winds of up to 45 miles-per-hour are reportedly set to batter parts of Scotland today.

The fresh warnings come after a month’s rain fell in just six hours earlier this week – closing four major train and London Tube stations.

Thousands of passengers were delayed as London’s Liverpool Street, Moorgate, St Pauls and Victoria stations were forced to close due to flooding.
