THE terrifying moment a yob throws a brick from a bridge onto a car travelling 50mph on a motorway below has been caught on camera.
Dashcam footage captures the thug hurling the dangerous object into the windscreen of a driver who narrowly avoids a fatal accident on a motorway near Leeds.
The unidentified thug is seen standing on the bridge crossing Junction 5 of the M621, near Leeds, heading southbound towards the M1.
Rik Nichol, of Wakefield, was was left shaken after the brick smashed through his windscreen in the shocking incident on Wednesday.
The 45-year-old said: “To be honest it pretty much caught me by surprise, I spotted him up there but didn’t think much of it and as I was changing lanes my focus was on my mirrors.
“Only when I glanced back I realised he actually thrown something and by then I couldn’t react quick enough.
“Only when I calmed down did I realise how serious it could have been.
“Luckily cars behind backed off when they saw what happened. It took a few seconds to contemplate what had actually happened …
“Had I completed changing lanes it could well have hit right at my face.”
Leeds Live contacted West Yorkshire Police for comment.
