A COMMUTER has been praised after he jumped onto the tube tracks and rescued a commuter who had collapsed at Oxford Circus Tube station.
The rush-hour incident was seen by hundreds of passengers this morning.
A witness told the Mirror: “I was on the Central Line going west when I saw someone on the tracks and everyone started screaming.
“Some brave guy jumped on the tracks and got them off.
“People were just shouting to alert the trains and a guy jumped before the alarms had been set off. ”
A spokesman for British Transport Police told the Sun Online: “We’ve been called to Oxford Circus station after reports of a casualty at the station – it seems a person has fallen onto the tracks.
“A man has been removed from the tracks and is being seen by paramedics.”
A TFL spokesman added: “Services were briefly held due to a customer incident at Oxford Circus.”
