LABOUR will allow unlimited freedom of movement and voting rights for EU nationals if they win an election.

Lefty delegates backed the plans at the party’s conference today – but they were slammed by Tories who accused Jeremy Corbyn of allowing “dangerous” criminals to roam our streets with ease.

Under the policy EU nationals would also be allowed to vote in a second Brexit referendum if Mr Corbyn gets to No10.

In a Labour motion it said: “Free movement, equality and rights for migrants, are socialist values and benefit us all.”

EU WHAT?

Labour members have also been told that the party will reject any immigration system based on “incomes, migrants’ utility to business and number caps or targets”.

And the party will ensure an “unconditional right” to family reunion, scrap all “hostile environment” measures and seek to “actively challenge anti-immigrant narratives”.

Free movement, equality and rights for migrants, are socialist values and benefit us all.

Labour motion

The motion – which was passed by a show of hands – further states that Labour will pledge to extend equal rights to vote to all UK residents.

It said: “Confronted with attacks on migrants – from the racist ‘hostile environment’ to the Conservatives’ Immigration Bill that plans to end free movement and strip the rights of working-class migrants – we stand for solidarity, equality and freedom.

“Scapegoating, ending free movement and attacking migrants’ rights are attacks on all workers. They make migrant workers more precarious and vulnerable to hyper-exploitation, pressing down wages and conditions for everyone.

Corbyn’s Labour even wants to extend free movement to more countries and allow potentially dangerous illegal immigrants to roam our streets.

“They divide us, making it harder to unionise and push back.”

The motion continued: “Labour offers real solutions to fix the problems which are unfairly and incorrectly blamed on migrants themselves: public funding for good jobs; homes, services and social security for everyone; scrapping anti-union laws to support workers organising for improved conditions and wages.

“Migrant workers are already central to trade union campaigns beating low pay and exploitation, in spite of prevailing attitudes and Tory legislation.”

But the Tories have blasted the move with Home Secretary Priti Patel claiming it will allow criminals to roam out streets with ease.

She said: “Jeremy Corbyn does not believe in any limits on immigration.

“Corbyn’s Labour even wants to extend free movement to more countries and allow potentially dangerous illegal immigrants to roam our streets.

“The British people voted to take back control. It’s only Boris Johnson and the Conservatives who will deliver Brexit by 31 October and end free movement once and for all.”
