SMUG Speaker John Bercow has caused a meme explosion on Twitter as people imagine his gleeful response to the Supreme Court showdown.
Remainer Bercow has been compared to Forrest Gump, Superman, Batman and even US wrestler Vince McMahon ahead of recalling Parliament tomorrow.
BERC IS BACK
The Speaker – who once had a sticker on his car saying ‘b*llocks to Brexit’ – will be among the many MPs now hoping to launch a fresh bid to block Brexit.
Bercow will recall MPs to the Commons at 11.30am tomorrow after Boris Johnson’s move to stop Parliament from sitting for five weeks was ruled to be unlawful.
Speaking to reporters on College Green, he said: “I welcome the Supreme Court’s judgement that the prorogation of Parliament was unlawful.
“In reaching their conclusion, they have vindicated the right and duty of Parliament to meet at this crucial time to scrutinise the executive and hold Ministers to account.
“As the embodiment of our Parliamentary democracy, the House of Commons must convene without delay. To this end, I will now consult the party leaders as a matter of urgency.”
Bercow has previously compared Boris to a “bank robber” for refusing to delay Brexit to avoid a No Deal.
He said: “It would be the most terrible example to set to the rest of society.
“One should no more refuse to request an extension of Article 50 because of what one might regard as the noble end of departing from the EU as soon as possible, than one could possibly excuse robbing a bank on the basis that the cash stolen would be donated to a charitable cause immediately afterwards.”

But aside from launching scathing attacks on the PM – the eccentric Speaker has also become viral; sensation for his showboating antics, including his long pronunciation of “order” when trying to tick off unruly MPs.
After today’s bombshell announcement his return tomorrow was likened to the return of Aragon in Lord of the Rings, UFC star Conor McGregor strutting around the ring and Jack Nicholson’s character poking his head through the door in The Shining.
