Furious soap fans took to Twitter in a frenzy after the terrifying accident aired, revealing they were not at all convinced.

The drama ensued as Jamie – who has believed he is Millie’s father for the entirety of her life – cantered over to her as she was playing with Kim Tate on a grassy patch at Home Farm.

He was riding troublesome horse Blaze, whom he had been warned about by its owner Kim earlier in the episode, yet he took no notice.

As he approached the bunch, his stallion became spooked and veered up, nearly causing him to dismount and knocking the child over.

Far from leaving ITV soap viewers at home traumatised and panicked, some confessed they had raised a smirk instead.

Fans said the incident was ‘laughable’ and that the horse had barely touched the child

One took to Twitter to write: “That ‘horse accident’ scene on #emmerdale was the biggest load of tripe I’ve ever seen in my life, not realistic at all.

“Even the ‘knocked out’ girl on the floor was smiling absolutely terrible!”

Another continued, and put: “#Emmerdale not the best looking stunt they’ve done as you could clearly see the horse was nowhere near her.”

A third added: “Have to say, this is quite a boring episode tonight.

Millie was later whisked to hospital after Kim Tate called 999

“Only exciting thing to happen is when Millie went and lied by the side of the pony.”

Another sarcastically put: “I’m standing closer to the horse than Millie was.”

Meanwhile, fans also called out another hilarious blunder in the action-packed episode of the ITV soap.

They cited the formal manner in which Kim Tate announced her name as she called 999 to request medical assistance for Millie.
