JODIE Comer didn’t invite her parents to the Emmy Awards because she didn’t think she would win.

The 26-year-old actress took home the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as villainous Villanelle in Killing Eve in Los Angeles on Monday night, but her family were absent from the ceremony because she didn’t think it would be “her time” to take home a trophy.

“One, I’m sorry, and two, I love you. I’m gonna bring this home.”

She continued: “I was not expecting to get up on this stage tonight.

“I cannot believe I’m in a category alongside these women, including Sandra Oh.”
