A WOMAN has transformed her gran’s damp and mouldy council flat into a “little haven” for just £230.
Tracey Davies, 47, used a few carefully chosen buys, a lick of paint and hard work to give her gran’s old room in the property a make-over.


She posted pictures of the incredible transformation the We Love Mrs Hinch Facebook group.
“After two weeks of b****y hard work, I’ve done it!! Nan is 95 and kept EVERYTHING,” she wrote.
“The furniture in her room hadn’t been moved for over 20 years so the damp and cobwebs were vile but now it’s my little haven.”
Tracey spent £223.39 on the refurbishment, including £123 on new furniture and £67.94 on wallpaper.
She bought blinds from Blids2Go for £36.45 and also spent money on some paint to refurnish her gran’s old wardrobe.
Tracey’s grandmother Frances had lived in the flat since 1929 and her and her husband moved in with Frances 23 years ago, the Daily Mail reports.
The couple lived in the second bedroom, their daughter in the box room and Frances in a the master bedroom
But six months ago Frances taken into hospital after taking ill and has since been moved into a nursing home.
Tracey’s adult daughter then moved in with her boyfriend, which left her and husband with three bedrooms in the house.

She told Facebook group she felt “guilty” about taking over her gran’s old room but decided it was time for a makeover.
Members of the group were impressed with Tracey’s effort and her post has received 1,900 likes.
Many left comments including one which read: “What a beautiful transformation and I bet your nan is happy that her home will continue to be home for her family.”
