GARY Lineker has defender Danny Baker over his “racist” chimpanzee Tweet about Meghan Markle.
Baker, 62, was axed from Radio 5 Live for sharing the pic of a chimp dressed in clothes with the caption: “Royal baby leaves hospital.”

Arch-remainer Gary Lineker defended his podcast co-host by claiming Baker didn’t follow the news carefully enough to know Archie Mountbatten-Windsor was mixed race.
He told Joe.co.uk: “Clearly the tweet had racist connotations, we all know that. but it was not deliberate in any way, shape, or form.
“Danny had no idea which member of the royal family was having a baby.
“If you know Danny you would possibly believe that because he doesn’t even have a mobile phone.

“He was trying to have a dig at entitlement basically, and I think privilege.
“He tweeted this thing and within seconds people are saying ‘woah, Danny, what are you doing? This is racist!’
“So it was obviously a mistake. It was a very big mistake, one that he paid dearly for by losing his job.
“He had a really tough, dark summer, and he found it very hard.
RADIO STAR WAS AXED FOR ‘RACIST’ TWEET
“If I thought he was racist in any way shape or form I wouldn’t be working with him.”
Baker later removed the tweet – posted to his 504,000 followers – and apologised saying: “Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up.
“Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased.

His tweet was posted hours after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry showed off little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Baker immediately received a backlash from Twitter users branding the post “racist” due to Meghan’s heritage – the Duchess of Sussex’s estranged dad Thomas Markle is white and mother Doria Ragland is black.
Despite his attempts to end the controversy, he was promptly sacked by BBC 5Live.
