The fight broke out after Boyne spotted a man she knew on Tinder chatting to Miss Szwed, 34, in the Oak Inn during the early hours of the morning.

According to Prosecutor Graeme Simpson, Boyne followed Miss Szwed, 35, into the toilets and screamed: “I’m going to f***ing kill you.

He said: “She grabbed Ms Szwed by the throat and lifted her up onto a ledge before smashing the back of her head against a tiled windowsill.

As I turned around I suddenly felt a hand grip my throat. She was on top of me calling me a ‘f***king homewrecker’ and then smashed my head against the sink.

“When Boyne let go, Ms Swed put her hands up to try to calm things down, but Boyne continued to shout abuse and threats at her before grabbing her by the air.

“Boyne pulled her victim’s head backwards and smashed it against the edge of the sink before letting go and walking out.

“As a result of the attack, Ms Szwed had a 4cm cut to the back of her head which required stitches.”

Judge Andrew Lockhart QC spared her prison, saying Boyne would not have attacked Miss Szwed if she had not been “in drink”.

He told Boyne: “I take the view you have some form of alcohol problem.

“Alcohol has been a feature of your life since, sadly, your husband died.

“Jealousy arose, and you, in my view, formed a view that Miss Szwed had done something to you.

“If you had not been in drink, you would not have done it, but you put your arm round her throat and smashed her head on the windowsill.

“You then bashed her head on the basin.

BROKEN

Boyne, of Coventry, was given a 12-month sentence, suspended for two years after she admitted actual bodily harm at Warwick Crown Court.

Miss Szwed, a single mum who worked as a mentor for mentally ill and homeless people posted pictures of her injuries on Facebook.

She was so badly injured she need brain scans and has undergone numerous back operations as a result of the attack.

She added that she has now lost her £40,000-a-year job and is surviving on benefits.

She said: “I have lost everything because of her. I am beyond broken.

“I got talking to a man at the bar who asked it I was on Tinder and I said ‘yes’. It was friendly chat but it didn’t go any further.

“As soon as I went into the loo I heard someone rushing in and my first thought was ‘wow, someone is desperate for the toilet’.

“As I turned around I suddenly felt a hand grip my throat. She was on top of me calling me a ‘f***king homewrecker’ and then smashed my head against the sink.

Since the attack, it emerged Boyne had spoken to the same man at the bar for ten minutes before he then chatted to Miss Szwed.
