After the 20-minute interview came to an end, the camera zoomed out to show David pointing towards Holly, who quickly fiddled with her blonde locks.

She then looked to try and pull something out before the show went to an ad break.

Holly had thought David was about to mention his unfortunate slip-up when he said “s**t” instead of “shouted” in a live TV blunder.

Amused Phillip laughed about the accidental swear word being used, before putting his hands over his mouth and gasping.

Earlier in the show when David spoke about the Leave campaign and MP Michael Gove, he exclaimed: “Believe me, I s**t at… Shouted at the TV!”

Phil tried to make light of it in the moment by saying: “We all did, and we have done ever since!”

Embarrassed David blushed as he repeated the word “shout” to make clear what he had meant, adding: “We have broken a new boundary I think, I am very sorry.”

His stint on This Morning follows his ITV interview with Tom Brady to promote his new book For The Record.
