FORMER gangster Sam Walker has posted YouTube videos of life behind bars – and claims to have filmed a “camera shy” Charlie Bronson.

The drug dealer, who has a reputation for publicity stunts, has managed to set up a YouTube channel and social media accounts while serving in Leeds and then HMP Peterborough.

His Twitter account has almost 20,000 followers and carries the description “unofficial account being run until Sam’s home”.

It also links to a YouTube channel, which includes videos taken in Leeds.

One video, uploaded on August 10, purportedly shows Walker in a room with Bronson, one of the country’s most notorious inmates.

A caption alongside the video said: “Big Charlie Bronson becomes camera shy while I video him. All 6ft5ins and 20 stone of him.”

Convicted robber Bronson has spent the majority of the past four decades imprisoned for a series of violent crimes.

NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL

The Liverpudlian, 36, whose crimes range from dealing class A drugs to threatening police and possessing fake money, has been in and out of prison since his teenage years.

The drug dealer also publicly threatened the former Everton player Ross Barkley.

He mocked police by posting videos while on the run in Sierra Leone before his eventual arrest.

Despite being moved prison, Walker’s social media activity has continued, with the convict posting a picture of himself in HMP Peterborough.

A spokesman for Sedexo, which runs the jail along with the Ministry of Justice, said “immediate action” had been taken, but declined to say what form that action took.

Twitter and YouTube have been approached for a comment.

Prison Officers’ Association chairman Mark Fairhurst told the BBC it was “frustrating” prisoners were finding “ingenious” ways to hide phones.

He said body scanners and signal-blocking technology were needed.

Mr Fairhurst said prison officers had tried to find a phone in Walker’s cell but he is likely to have hidden it “in his person” which means they “do not have the authority to take it from him”.

He added: “We’re very reliant on storming in his cell and getting it while he’s using it. It is very frustrating.”
