BRITNEY Spears’ dad won’t face criminal charges for an altercation with her 13-year-old son Sean Preston.
Earlier this month, US reports said that Jamie Spears is being investigated for allegedly abusing the young teen following a complaint from his father, Kevin Federline, in August.
RadarOnline report that Ventura County District Attorney Gregory D. Totten said in a statement: “The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigated allegations involving child abuse by Mr. Spears.
“After reviewing the evidence, there is insufficient proof that a criminal offence was committed by Mr. Spears.”
According to TMZ, the singer’s ex-husband filed a police report at the Ventura County Sheriff’s station accusing 66-year-old Jamie of being involved in a “physical altercation” with their eldest child.
The site has claimed that the former backing dancer accused Jamie of “breaking down a door and grabbing” the teen in a heated exchange when the boys were visiting his home in Westlake Village with Britney.
A source told Us Weekly: “Britney had the boys at Jamie’s condo on the evening of August 24. Jamie and Sean Preston got into an argument.
“Sean Preston felt unsafe and locked himself into a room. Jamie broke into the room and shook Sean Preston.
“The whole incident was very upsetting to her and her boys. Kevin was and still is furious.”
Sources told the publication there were “no visible bruises or injuries” on Sean serious enough to warrant a report to the police with his lawyer.
Federline’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told People: “Britney did the right thing and removed the children and took them out of there.
He added that Federline still wants his ex-wife to have “continuing and meaningful contact with their mother.”
Following the claims, Us Weekly reported that Sean and younger brother Jayden, 12, have been granted a restraining order against their grandfather.
The news broke one day after it was revealed that Britney had adjusted her child custody arrangement with Kevin, which will see her getting less access to her sons.

Previously, the former couple shared custody of their boys 50/50. However as of August 28, Britney, 37, and Kevin, 41, formalised their new arrangement.
Despite their updated agreement, the site claimed that the couple’s 70/30 custody split has been in place since August 2018.
