Who is Samantha Cameron?

Samantha Cameron is the wife of former Prime Minister and Conservative Party leader David Cameron.

Mr Cameron was in office for six years, but after the country voted to leave the EU in 2016, he gave up his position at No10.

Samantha Cameron, formally Samantha Sheffield, is the daughter of Sir Reginald Sheffield, 8th Baronet and Annabel Jones, Viscountess Astor.

She grew up on a 300-acre estate in North Lincolnshire with her family.

Mrs Cameron, 48, has her own share of notable ancestors – as her great-grandfather, Sir Berkeley Sheffield, was an Eton-educated Tory MP in the early 20th century.

Her family also own a large estate in Yorkshire, fit with priceless interiors designed by royal architect Henry Flitcroft in the 1720s.

At the age of 25, she married David Cameron and has had four kids with him, on top of being a successful businesswoman in her own right.

David Cameron reportedly has a net worth of £50 million, and has most recently published his memoirs, titled ‘For The Record.’

After taking a year to complete an Art Foundation course at Camberwell College of Arts, London, Samantha went on to study Fine Art at the University of the West of England.

Who are Samantha and David Cameron’s children?

Samantha and David got married in 1996 in Oxfordshire – five years before he was elected as a Member of Parliament.

The Camerons have had four children together: Nancy Gwen Beatrice Cameron, 15, Arthur Elwen Cameron, 13, Florence Rose Endellion Cameron, nine, and their firstborn, Ivan Reginald Ian Cameron, who died in 2009 at the age of six.

Ivan Cameron was born with a rare combination of cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy and sadly passed away a year before David took the position of Prime Minister in 2010.

What does Samantha Cameron do?

Until her husband became Prime Minister in 2010, Samantha was the Creative Director of Smythson of Bond Street – the luxury stationery manufacturer.

She took on a part-time consultancy role at Smythson after David assumed his position in No10.

In 2009, she won a British Glamour Magazine Award for Best Accessory Designer for her work at Smythson.

She is also an ambassador for the charity Save the Children, which improves the lives of children in the UK and across the world.
