BRITAIN would be powerless to stop dual national terrorists entering the UK under a Lib Dem policy adopted yesterday, it is claimed.
Delegates passed a motion to remove the Home Secretary’s unilateral right to strip citizenship. They would have to apply to a court instead.
It would prevent him blocking the return of the likes of Shamima Begum, the Jihadi bride barred from returning to Britain earlier this year.
Ms Begum left her East London home aged 15 in 2015 to join IS.
Promoting the policy in Bournemouth, MP Christine Jardine said “national security” may be better served by quizzing would-be returnees to learn how to prevent them being radicalised.
She added: “Would it really, really have been impossible to prosecute Shamima Begum in the UK? Because that’s what the home secretary argued.
