SINEAD O’Connor has accused Prince of trying to attack her as she recalled a bizarre late-night bust up with the pop legend at his Los Angeles home.

The singer claimed he chased her with a pillow “filled with something hard” to whack her with during a furious argument.

Sinead O’Connor made the allegations about Prince 29 years after Nothing Compares 2U came out

Sinead said the pair clashed after her huge success with his song Nothing Compares 2U, which he wrote in 1984.

When quizzed about their relationship on Good Morning Britain today, Sinead said: “We did meet once but we didn’t get on too well, we tried to beat each other up.

“It was more he tried to beat me up and I tried to defend myself.

“It’s not a joke, it was a very frightening experience actually.”

Sinead was on the ITV morning show with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid to perform Nothing Compares 2U.

Explaining about her terrifying encounter with Prince, Sinead added: “He summoned me to his house in Los Angeles one night and I foolishly went along.

“He was uncomfortable with the fact I wasn’t a protege of his and that I just recorded his song.

“He ordered that I don’t swear in my interviews anymore but of course Irish people swear all the time so I told him where to go.”

Sinead claims that’s when their confrontation turned physical.

The singer said the experience was ‘frightening’

“He went for me,” she said.

“Then he went upstairs to get a pillow with something hard in it and I ran out of his house.

“I was hiding in a bush, but he found me on the highway in Malibu at 5am.

“We were running around his car while I’m spitting at him and he’s trying to punch me. He had a pillow trying to hit me with.

“I went and rung someone’s doorbell which is what my dad always told me to do if I got in a situation like that.”

She then claimed: “He was into some pretty hard drugs. I never saw or heard from him again after that.”

Sinead recorded Prince’s song Nothing Compares 2U in 1990.

Prince was 57 when he died after being found alone and unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park home on April 21, 2016.

Autopsy results revealed he died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl– a drug 50 times more powerful than heroin.
