PIERS Morgan has warned he’s on “a lot of drugs” and “anything could happen” after an insect bite left him with a nasty knee infection.
The Good Morning Britain host was keen to stress he was “manning up” for today’s show.
“I have developed a rather unpleasant knee infection from an insect that bit me in Italy.
“My right knee is blowing up and I’m on a number of drugs and anything could happen, but I’m here at my work station.”
When his co-host Susanna Reid suggested he was feeling sorry for himself, Piers insisted: “I’m not a victim. There is no victimhood in my life.”
He went to see a doctor yesterday for treatment before coming for the live TV show this morning.
Piers is famous for his non-nonsense attitude and often moans that “snowflakes” need to “man up”.
He has been suffering with the infection for the few days after the unfortunate incident abroad.
Last Wednesday he flew to Italy straight from Good Morning Britain to meet with football legend Cristiano Ronaldo for a very rare interview.
The pair have become friends over the past year after Piers discovered Ronaldo is a huge fan of his crime documentary.
Cristiano Ronaldo Meets Piers Morgan is on ITV tonight at 9pm and will see Ronaldo break down over the death of his alcoholic father.
