PEAKY Blinders creator Steven Knight has insisted the hit BBC gangster series will never feature the likes of Liam Gallagher who has begged for a celebrity cameo.
The 46-year-old rocker told fans he was in talks for landing a part in the show earlier this month, but Steven has shut down the rumours.

Speaking to crowds at the Peaky Blinders Festival in Birmingham this weekend after being quizzed on Liam’s role, he said: “In terms of appearances we’ve always had a lot of incoming interest. “What I’m trying to not do is populate the scene with people who are known for other things, because I think it’s quite distracting.”
Despite ruling out an appearance from the rocker, the Peaky Blinders super fan performed at the festival for fans, proving there are no hard feelings.
He’s even tried to put his feud with his brother Noel in the past by inviting him to his wedding to girlfriend Debbie Gwyther.

Meanwhile Steven is currently writing series six, with another set for next year.
He hopes he can then move onto making spin-offs of the TV series – or even a movie.
Steven added: “It’s up to us. It’s up to the people involved.”
The first ever Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival was held in Digbeth this weekend.
The impressive event feature two days of immersive theatre, music from Primal Scream and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, as well as cast appearances.
