A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was left with inflated lips for days after trying to recreate the Kylie Jenner challenge with a shot glass.
Lily Greenland had been hoping for an impressive pout like the make up mogul – but was instead left in tears and swollen lips from the challenge.
And the moment the schoolgirl’s lips inflated to almost four times their normal size was caught on film by her own mother Danni Greenland, who was left in stitches.
The footage shows the 12-year-old girl, from Cheshunt, Herts, putting her lips inside the small shot glass for about a minute.
She then sucks out the air to make her lips swell – heard mumbling “it hurts” as tears start to spring from her eyes.
But mum Danni, 30, burst out laughing when her daughter eventually took off the shot glass – showing an extremely inflated pout that lasted two days.
Danni said: “I would say she looked like Pete Burns, to be honest. I’ve never seen lips like it in real life. It was very surreal. It was like a lip filler job gone very wrong.
“Hopefully it’s put her off having lip fillers when she’s older. They were probably about three or four times of the size of her natural lips. She usually has quite small natural lips.
“I didn’t realise she was going to do it or that was really going to happen. I started recording because her lips looked funny in the shot glass.”
She said her daughter had been inspired by silly videos when she decided to try the challenge last weekend.
LIPS LIKE KYLIE: The DIY challenge taking the Internet by storm
KYLIE Jenner is known for many things – including her full lips.
And fans of the youngest ever self-made billionaire’s look are now keen to mimic her iconic pout.
So, the Kylie Jenner challenge was born.
The challenge sees people place shot glasses over their mouths, then sucking out the air.
This causes their lips to swell up with dramatic effect.
Also dubbed the shot glass challenge, women were left with painful looking lips from the attempts.
Doctors raised fears over potential permanent damage from the artificial swelling.
Dr. Dendy Engelman, a dermatologic surgeon, told Seventeen magazine: “The new trend in trying to DIY lip plumping is quite concerning.
“Not only can significant pain, swelling and bruising result from these suction techniques but there is potential risk for scarring and permanent disfigurement with repeated attempts.”
And Danni, a customer service manager, said Lily wasn’t impressed with the outcome.
She said: “She was just acting like a teenage girl I suppose.
“It worked, but that’s not the look you want.”
The mum-of-three said she now hoped the experience had put her daughter off of getting lip fillers in the future.
Danni posted the video online where it received more than 3,500 likes, views and comments.
