A MAGICAL shot of a sea lion and a fog-shrouded Golden Gate Bridge are among stunning winners of prestigious nature photo contest.
Judges for the Nature Conservancy’s 2019 Photo Contest, had to whittle down the best images from an astonishing 120,000 entries.
The Grand Prize was an incredible underwater shot of a California sea lion by photographer Tyler Schiffman, from California.
Mr Schiffman said: “I had framed this shot waiting for a sea lion to swim by.
“After five minutes, one swam up and paused for a few seconds.
“I took three photos and as rare as it was, the moment left in a blink of an eye.”
Photographers from 152 countries submitted images across five categories – wildlife, water, people in nature, landscape, and cities and nature.
Here we show the category winners and some of the jaw-dropping runners-up.
