LOVE Island’s Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt have revealed they’ve said “I love you” three weeks after getting back together.

The couple kept their rekindled romance secret until they were ready to admit they were dating again after a brief split.

Now they’re officially boyfriend and girlfriend – and have fallen head over heels for each other in the outside world.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online at Maura Higgins’ boohoo launch last night, Joe said: “We’ve dropped the L-bomb.

“I feel like the luckiest guy in the world still.

“I’ll always be grateful to Love Island. That show is the reason we met and how I got with this amazing girl.

“We came out and found each other again. Now everyone can see it’s not fake, it’s something real.

“It sounds like a fairy tale, but true love will always conquer.”

Even Love Island host Caroline Flack was convinced they would end up together, says Lucie.

She added: “Caroline kept saying she thought we would get back together – and she was right!”

Joe and Lucie are now splitting their time between London and Cornwall and refuse to worry about the long distance and outside pressures impacting their relationship.

“If you really care about someone and you really love them, you will make it work,” insists Joe.

“I can understand why other couples have struggled because it is a strain, but for me I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”

They’re now planning a romantic holiday for some quality time together – but insist they won’t rush their relationship.

Joe said: “We’re just going to take every day as it comes and see how things go.

“That’s the best mentality to have.”

Lucie added: “We definitely need a holiday just the two of us. I just want a nice break with him, so we can go surfing and just enjoy each other’s company.”

Joe and Lucie celebrated Maura becoming a boohoo ambassador at an event in Nobu, Shoreditch, last night.

They were joined by fellow Love Islanders Chris Taylor, Francesca Allen, India Reynolds, Belle Hassan, Anna Vakili – and of course Maura’s love interest Curtis.
