DANIEL is struggling and ends up hitting the bottle after an argument with Sinead about her treatment

- Paul has an unwelcome blast from the past
Paul is disgusted when he hears about Bernie’s pregnancy test scam but he’s even more rocked by the news that she’s back with her old boyfriend, Kel.
Paul hasn’t seen Kel since he was 14 but comes face to face with him in the Rover’s yard.
Kel tells him that what happened between them was special but he’s committed to Bernie this time.

- Sinead makes plans for her death
Sinead makes plans to visit a hospice as she’s considering her options.
But after being shown around, Daniel tells her that he wants to care for her at home until the bitter end.
- Sinead accuses Daniel of wanting her dead
After a gruelling round of chemo, Sinead is left so weak she’s unable to even hold baby Bertie, which leaves Daniel upset.
He suggests to her that maybe she should stop chemo as it’s making her so sick.
Sinead furiously accuses Daniel of wanting her to die sooner so it’s easier for him.
- Billy confronts Paul about Kel
Billy’s suspicions about Kel are raised when he speaks to Gemma about Paul’s feud with Kel.
Gemma reveals they used to be inseparable until one day Paul flipped.
He made everyone’s lives a misery and Bernie and Kel split.
Billy is concerned to hear that Paul was 14.
He asks Paul outright what went on and Paul furiously orders Billy to never come near him again.

- Daniel hits the bottle
Daniel goes to work desperate to escape the atmosphere at home. Later Sinead encourages him to go to the party the Bailey’s are throwing.
But Jenny finds him drinking alone in Victoria Gardens.
She drags him to the party where he makes the most of the rum punch before dancing wildly and taking a swing at Michael.
- Ali and Toyah bond over his drug addiction
Ali escapes from the flat when Ryan heads for a shower after an exhausting night helping him through his withdrawal.
Ali then tries to conceal his symptoms from a knowing Toyah in the cafe.
Toyah tells him that whenever he’s ready to talk about his problems, she’s willing to listen.

- James comes out to Bethany
After asking Bethany to the party and consoling her when Daniel blasts her, Bethany moves in for a kiss with James.
She’s humiliated when he pulls away.
James is forced to confess that he’s gay but can’t be open about it as a black footballer because of some fans’ prejudice.
- Izzy and Derek bond while Gary’s away
There’s a spark between Izzy and Derek at the pub, but Derek is horrified when he learns that Izzy is mother of Gary’s child.
Later he confesses to her that he has a serious drink problem.
Izzy offers to support him in his battle with the booze and he asks her on a date.

- Gary returns and gives Derek a dark warning
Gary returns and is unhappy to discover that Derek has been signing things off without him.
He’s even more cross when he discovers that Derek and Izzy are planning a date.
Gary warns Derek to stay away from Izzy.
But when Derek tries to let her down gently, saying it’s awkward as he works with Gary, Izzy points out that he’s Derek’s boss and can do what he likes.

- Adam moves into the Rovers
Adam moves into the Rovers to give Daniel and Sinead some space.
Jenny is delighted and makes a huge fuss of him.
