Here’s more about the army man who hopes his magic tricks can nab him the top price in the new BGT: Champions show.
Who is Richard Jones?
Richard Jones is a British magician, mentalist and mind reader who was born on September 21, 1990, in Leytonstone, London, and grew up in Chigwell, Essex.
He joined the British Army in 2010 and studied for a year at the Royal Military School of Music.
Richard spent three years with the band of Parachute Regiment before being posted to the band of the Household Cavalry as a mounted duty man.

How did Richard Jones win Britain’s Got Talent?
Lance Corporal Jones beat off singer Wayne Woodward to win BGT in 2016 following over two and half million votes from the public.
Richard left Alesha Dixon and viewers at home in tears as he told the story of a 97-year-old war veteran with a card trick.
Mixing both his passions – the army and magic – he described Fergus Anckorn’s life, revealing he was a survivor of the Thai-Burma Death Railway and also a magician.
When the trick reached its culmination, the curtain on stage lifted to reveal the 97-year-old war hero and Richard’s army band.
Richard won £250,000 and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety performance where he got Prince Charles to become his assistant for his trick.
What has Richard been up to since winning Britain’s Got Talent?
Since winning the tenth series of BGT, Richard went on to star in his own one-off, hour-long prime-time ITV show called Operation Magic .
During the show he entertained his fellow troops and singer Katherine Jenkins.
Viewers followed him during his busy schedule of magic shows which he combines with his duties in the Household Cavalry band.
Richard then toured the UK in his Power of Imagination tour – starting in Windsor in August 2017 and concluding on the Isle of Wight in November 2017.
In early 2018, it was confirmed that the star would be bringing his magic to Butlins holidays on a tour during half terms and summer holidays throughout the year.
