LISA Riley has said she still hopes to conceive naturally after being told IVF is unlikely to work.

The 43-year-old – who has just returned full time to Emmerdale – was left devastated last year when her and fiancé Al’s baby dreams were shattered but she has found solace in her brother’s family.

Speaking about her wishes to have child, she told The Mirror:  “Theirs is the family I wanted – but I can’t have. It is just not meant to be.

“But since being back at Emmerdale I have heard so many positive stories about people who tried IVF and it didn’t work, but then fell pregnant naturally.”

She continued: “I wouldn’t go down the IVF route now but I will let nature take its course and, if I did fall pregnant, I would be thrilled.

“But I am not going to dwell on it. No one is going to give me bad news again.”

Lisa turned her life around losing 12 stone in weight and undergoing surgery to remove her excess skin.

The new lease of life saw the actress confirm she would love to start a family with her publicity shy man Al.

However fertility tests revealed that Lisa’s remaining eggs were not of a quality that doctors expected, meaning IVF would possibly not work.

The couple became engaged last year, with Lisa taking to social media to share the happy news.

She wrote: “Yes I can now confirm the rumours are true….I have got engaged…my soul mate and best mate and love of my life Al is the best thing to have ever happened to me….we have absolutely NO date set for ANY wedding day, just happy together…zero fuss, just firmed our togetherness.”
