A TEEN girl stole more than £1,000 of her parents money to fund a plot to murder them, police in the US said this week.

Alyssa Hatcher, 17, swiped her parents’ debit card and withdrew cash to pay two different people to kill them, investigators in Florida alleged.

She was arrested on Tuesday on two counts of criminal solicitation for murder.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office claimed a witness said Hatcher gave her friend “a lot of money” to find someone to kill her parents.

Hatcher’s boyfriend had told police he saw her on Monday morning “at a known drug house”.

It was there that she told him “she wanted to kill her parents,” an arrest affidavit said.

That same day, Hatcher made an Instagram photo of herself smiling with the cryptic caption “Ruthless”, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

That photo has since been deleted and her account has been taken offline.

It was revealed that Hatcher made two transactions on her parents’ card – one for $503 (£408) and another for $926.40 (£751).

She was arrested by the Umatilla Police Department for the theft of the debit card.

While being interviewed by police, Hatcher admitted to stealing the card and making the transactions.

She went on to say she used $100 to buy cocaine and gave $400 to her friend to give to someone to kill her parents, according to the affidavit.

Hatcher said that since the murder was never carried out, she gave the other $900 “to a black male to kill her parents,” police said.

Sgt Fred Jones of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said investigators were trying to figure out a motive.

“There were people who were saying on social media how much she hates her parents,” Jones said, according to ClickOrlando.com.

He added: “There’s nothing that your parents can do – being you’re grounded, your car’s taken away, you can’t go to the prom or wherever — for you to get to this point.”

Hatcher was booked at the Lake County Jail, where she was processed and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
