Heartbroken Faye Brookes has been burning 2000 calories in the gym with two-hour workouts following her split from Gareth Gates.

The 32-year-old has upped her exercise regime in recent weeks and has been attending classes at Barry’s Bootcamp in Manchester where she regularly puts herself through gruelling sessions.

Faye Brookes has been hitting the gym hard following her split

A source revealed: “Faye always loved the gym when she was with Gareth but at the moment she is like a woman possessed.

“But she needs to make sure she eats well because she’ll be losing weight if she works out at that level for long.”

The former Corrie star has grown close to hunky PT Joe Davies – who is a popular trainer there – during her workouts.

There is no suggestion Faye was cheating on Gareth but she has since been seen out with Joe.

Faye is a big fan of Barry’s in Manchester

A source confirmed: “Faye and Joe have attended the launch of a new bar called Eden in Manchester together, along with loads of her friends and family — and were being openly tactile.

“And they spent a night together in London when Faye had a meeting with her agent and Joe had an event for Barebells protein bars.”

At Barry’s Bootcamp gym Faye, Kate Connor in the ITV soap, was recently pictured happily chatting with instructor Joe.

On Twitter, she denied they were an item, saying she was a member of the gym and Joe was just a friend.

She wrote: “I imagine that suggestions could be made from these pics that there is more to this. There isn’t.”

Gareth, 35, and Faye met when they starred in Legally Blonde in 2012.

They got engaged in January but earlier this summer they called off the wedding.
