EX-EMMERDALE actor Asan N’Jie made a string of offensive tweets making a homophobic jibe calling Coronation Street character Gail Platt a s**g and retweeting a joke about misogynistic violence.
The telly newcomer, 25, who joined the ITV soap last year to play Jessie Grant’s son Ellis, was sacked today following a furious bust upwith Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas, 44, at the TV Choice Awards in London on Monday. Asan threatened to “knife” Warren Fox actor Jamie and had to be dragged away by pals.
The Sun can now exclusively reveal shocking tweets made by Asan when he was an 18-year-old student.
In one message – tweeted seven years ago in January, 2012 Asan branded male pals who had been for a tanning session on a sunbed a homphobic slur “pussy p***s”
It reads: “I’ve got a missed call from him, give me a text when you’ve been sun beds…. You pussy p***s.”
A month later he calls Coronation Street actress Helen Worth’s character Gail Platt a sexist name.
He tweeted: “hahahaha Gail platt the slag.”
A year earlier Asan also retweeted a joke from a pal making light of misogynistic violence joking about calling a mother a “b***h” and slapping her for taking too long with dinner.
An ITV spokeswoman refused to comment on the tweets because Asan is no longer contracted to the soap but confirmed his axing and said in a statement: “Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.
“ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.”
Asan issued a grovelling apology and said in a statement: “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
“I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.”
It comes after his former co-star Emmerdale actress Shila Iqbal was sacked in April after racist tweets she posted as a student were discovered.
Shila, 24, had just been given a permanent role as Aiesha Richards on the ITV soap.

“I have paid the price and can no longer continue the job I loved the most at Emmerdale.”
