KATIE Price’s estranged husband, Kieran Hayler, has opened up on his surprisingly close bond with the former glamour model’s ex, Peter Andre.
Ex Page Three girl Katie and Mysterious Girl singer Peter stole the hearts of the nation when they struck up a romance after I’m A Celebrity in 2004, and it appears her most recent spouse – from who she has now separated – shares some strong values with her husband number one who says they are “very similar”.
In a chat with New Magazine, Kieran said: “Me and Pete are very similar in the way we parent.
“We just try to ignore the madness.
“He’s like me in that he just wants to be the best dad he can be in the circumstances.”
The pair both share two children with Katie.
While Peter has Junior, 12, and Princess Andre, 10, with Katie, Kieran, who married Katie in 2013, shares Jet, aged six, and Bunny, five.
These circumstances, to which he refers, have recently seen Katie split from partner Kris Boyson.
The Loose Women panelist has since got together with a toyboy lover Charles Drury.
Earlier this year, Kieran and Peter appeared to share similar concerns about Katie’s love for surgery, which has recently seen her sport a bandaged face.
In a chat with new! Magazine, a source said: “It’s a worry for Pete and Kieran to have their daughters exposed to so much of it.”
Meanwhile, last year, Peter proved his relationship with Kieran was amicable.
In an interview reported in celebsnow, he said: “I think it’s really important for children to see unity with parents.
“I think that’s how it should be and he’s always been great with the kids, which is what you want when you’re not looking after them 24/7.
“I appreciate everything he’s done and obviously it’s good that we get on well.
“He was always very respectful to me and would always run things past me with regards to the children, which I’m thankful for.”
Kieran recently told how Katie speaking to him like “s***” gave him flashbacks of being bullied as a child.

The dad-of-two opened up about his bullying past and his fears for his children’s future.
When asked whether Katie’s behaviour brought back memories of being brutally bullied at school during an interview in new! magazine, Kieran, 32, agreed, saying: “Of course, but it’s not even just with Kate, it’s when anyone’s horrible to me.
“When people say cruel, untrue things about me on social media, which can happen a lot, usually after a story about Kate, that hurts.
“No matter what it is, it will bring back memories.”
The dad-of-two went on to reveal how his own bullying past has made him fearful for Jett, six, and five-year-old Bunny’s future.
