Jade Thirwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards all appear in her deeply personal BBC documentary Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out, that highlights her ordeal at the hands of trolls who insulted her looks and left her with body-image issues.

Her bandmates tell how they saw Jesy change before their eyes as the relentless social media abuse took its toll.

In the programme, on BBC1 at 9pm on Thursday, Jade says: “The three of us didn’t know what to do.

“We just had to watch this amazing, funny girl become a bit like a broken doll. It was horrible.

Jesy’s band-mates have revealed how online trolls have had a hugely long-term effect on her mental health[/caption]

“I remember feeling really angry. I wanted to just find every single person that had ever said anything horrible to her, look them in the eye and say, ‘Look what you’ve done to this girl’.

“Every single person that said something should have been held accountable for making her feel like that.”

Jesy tells in the documentary that she tried to kill herself with an overdose of tablets in November 2013. She said: “My ex who was with me at the time, he woke up and he was like, ‘Why are you crying?’

“I kept saying, ‘I just want to die, I just want to die’. And he was like, ‘Why are you saying that for?’ And I was like, ‘Because I do, I just want it to go away’.

“He was trying to make me be sick in the bathroom and then the ambulance came.

“The doctor said, ‘You’re so lucky you didn’t take any more because that would have been it. You could have done severe, severe damage to yourself’.”

Despite Jesy gradually learning to love herself and embrace her body, her bandmates say there has been a lasting impact. Leigh-Anne explained: “She is a little bit of a nightmare when it comes to video shoots and photoshoots. It has been a bit hard within the group.

“People don’t realise what bullying and trolling can do to someone. The trolls took away her love for it and her passion. But how does she get that back? How does she go back to feeling confident and feeling amazing from all that s**t that happened to her?”

Jesy’s Nelson’s boyfriend Chris Hughes has described her as ‘the best role model on the planet’[/caption]

Perrie added: “It’s weird, because the more you compliment her and the more you try to tell her she looks incredible, the more she’s like, ‘No I don’t’. And she’s adamant.”

The impact is still incredibly clear in footage shown in the documentary, where Jesy berates herself for what she looks like on the set of the video for their song Bounce Back, shot in May.

Jesy said: “My trauma does really run deep and I may not ever really recover properly.

“There’s a lot of pressure to look good in music videos so if you don’t feel good it’s really hard to pretend to feel amazing.

Jesy Nelson’s new documentary Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out airs on BBC1 this Thursday at 9pm[/caption]

“I want to perform and be myself but I just look s**t and uncomfortable. I just look like a fat, ugly rat.”

While her story is heartbreaking, Jesy should be commended for sharing it and highlighting an epidemic among young people.

I urge everyone to watch this documentary and ensure these online bullies are held responsible for their actions.

Fans wild for stripped back Taylor

TAYLOR SWIFT made a triumphant return to the stage last night, throwing what she labelled a “party” at a tiny theatre to launch album Lover.
I joined invited guests and super fans from 37 countries as Taylor treated us to her biggest hits and tracks from the new record.

She told us: “I’ve been working on this album so long, it’s amazing to finally be able to perform it.”

There were no costume changes, big productions or tricks as Taylor let the songs do the talking.

She rattled through crowd pleasers including Blank Space, I Knew You Were Trouble and Love Story before returning to her country-inspired routes with a solo acoustic interlude in which she performed tracks from the new record, “as I originally wrote them – with only one instrument”.

Acoustically, Taylor’s talent shines through. While she has a gift for a pop hook and a catchy beat, her stripped- back melodies and heartfelt lyrics are fully showcased when she’s alone.

Taylor treated fans to classic tracks from her back catalogue as well as songs from her brand new album Lover

Many of the audience already knew every word of her new tracks. This album is all about love, and equality, and anyone who disagrees with that needs to calm down.

Her performance confirmed her status as the consummate modern pop superstar.

Taylor’s back, and back to her best.

Pop singer Des’ree is returning with her first album in 16 years.

A Love Story will be released on October 11.

The British R&B star turned her back on the industry in 2003.

She started work on her new collection in 2014 and completed it after she took a break to care for her ill mum.

Craig David has announced his Hold That Thought UK arena tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of hit album Born To Do It.

It will kick off at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on April 13 and end at the O2 Arena in London on April 25.

Tickets for the nine-date run across the country go on sale on Friday.

In an unlikely feud, Mark Ronson has hit back at Lord Sugar after the Apprentice grump asked in a badly-spelled tweet whether the producer could, “play and instrument properly”.

Mark jokily replied: “I can play and instrument.

Me also write good. Let me know if you ever want to come to a show and hear some noise.”

Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey will release the collaboration Don’t Call Me Angel on Friday after months of teasing.

It is on the soundtrack of the Charlie’s Angels movie reboot, which is out on November 29.

No hold-up for Bandit

Clean Bandit fans had to wait four years for their second album, 2018’s What Is Love? but the trio aren’t leaving it so long this time.

Their summer has seen them touring the world but Grace Chatto, as revealed they spent every spare minute on the road working on the next record.

In an exclusive chat, she said: “We’ve got a lot of brand new songs that we’ve been writing over the last couple of months and some really exciting features. I’m just trying to finish them off at the moment.

“As soon as the festivals are done, we can make the videos.”

Grace, who scored her fourth No1 with the group last year with Solo, added: “We want to get the new music out soon. There will be some this year, definitely.”

Jake Gyllenhaal got fans hot and bothered when they asked what he does for his own “wellness”.

The US actor replied: “I believe in sweat, in whatever form. My best form of self care is intimacy, that makes me sweat.” Oo-er.

No one could miss Hailey Bieber on the front rows of New York Fashion Week in this outfit.

They should be back together soon as they are planning a wedding celebration for later this month, a year on from their secret nuptials.

With all of their celebrity pals due to attend, I expect this one will be anything but secret.

Rita is in fine metal

Rita Ora’s clearly looking for a reaction in this chain number.

The Girls singer wore the shiny silver top and trousers emblazoned with Tomboy on the leg for a performance at Lollapalooza in Berlin, Germany, her final festival of the summer.
