ALEXA Launeburger is the 12-year-old teenager who won the German edition of Britain’s Got Talent with a thrilling dog act.

She caused controversy on her season after being accused of not training the dogs herself, but now she’s back on TV tonight to prove her talent in Britain’s very own The Champions on ITV.

Alexa Launeburger won the German edition of Britain’s Got Talent in 2017

Who is Alexa Launeburger?

Alexa Launeburger auditioned for the 11th series of Germany’s Das Supertalent, which kicked off its premiere on September 16, 2017.

By December, 2017, Alexa had won the series with the help of a dozen number of dogs, but controversy surrounded her win once it was claimed that the teen hadn’t trained the animals herself after all.

In the midst of her time on Das Supertalent, her father Wolfgang Lauenburger had also made an appearance on German television, having shown off his own skills with pets on the Sat.1 show Superpets – Die talentiertesten Tiere der Welt.

His performance was a very similar number to Alexa’s act, but at this point, it no longer mattered since the youngster had already won the competition.

Viewers felt betrayed by the family, using social media to lash out at Alexa and her father for giving the impression it was she who trained the dogs when, in fact, it was her father.

On his official Facebook page, Wolfgang explained the situation, stressing that his daughter never claimed to have been the only person to coach the animals,

Alexa’s dad gave a feisty response when mentioning how Alexa raised three of the dogs on her own, adding that because of how well trained they were, Wolfgang decided to also use him for his performance on German television.

According to Der Western, he went on to address people’s concerns as to why he performed the exact same number as his daughter, but his response was simple: the dogs can’t simply learn new tricks overnight, so he performed the act with what he knew would work.

Wolfgang concluded by saying that Alexa deserved her title because, regardless of people’s opinions, it’s a talent just to handle a great number of dogs and make them abide by one’s rules during a show.

When does Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions start?

The BGT spin-off kicked off on ITV on Saturday, August 31.

The series will run for six weeks – with this in mind the show is likely to end on October 5, 2019.

We know that the final was taped at Wembley Arena at the end of July.

Embarrassingly enough, the act who won the contest showed off their trophy outside the arena – we won’t spoil it for you, but if you do care to know who’s won the show, a simple Twitter search will bring up the answer in no time.
