LOVE Island’s Curtis Pritchard said he has “something in mind” to ask Maura Higgins to be his girlfriend.

The 23-year-old star confirmed that he hadn’t yet asked “the question” but that he did have a plan up his sleeve as he landed in her native Ireland for a weekend break.

Curtis said if he’s seeing someone “it’s pretty much official” as he looked forward to catching up with Maura, 28, in Dublin ahead of an appearance on The Late Late Show.

Speaking to The Sun at a Virgin Media store, he said: “I’ve been asked this quite a lot. I’m very old fashioned on this.

“If I’m seeing someone, it’s official pretty much anyway. But have I asked ‘the question’? The answer is no to that.

“Do I have something in my mind? Yes I do. So I’m leaving it at that – it’s top secret.”

Earlier this week, the pair confirmed they weren’t an official couple to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning.

‘THINGS ARE GREAT’

The pro dancer revealed he’s excited to spend some quality time with Maura in her home country and that the relationship is going well.

He said: “Me and Maura are fantastic. She’s actually coming to Ireland tonight, she’s on the Late Late Show tonight so I’m going to spend some time with her later on.

“And then tomorrow, I just want to go around Dublin and not do anything in particular, just walk up Grafton Street, walk around, just do some random stuff.

“It’ll be nice to just spend some quality time in her home country actually, but yeah things are great with Maura.”

RELATIONSHIPS IN THE VILLA AREN’T REAL

Curtis said he’s glad that he and Maura don’t spend all their time together – as it makes it a real relationship.

He continued: “We’re very lucky, we’re very fortunate that we’re quite busy so we don’t get to spend every second of the day together, which has been nice actually because it makes it into a real life relationship.

“In the villa, you spend all your time together and it’s not real.

“So it’s been nice to come out of the villa, we both work – therefore we don’t see each other, so therefore we miss each other, therefore we can’t wait to see each other.

“So sometimes we’re not seeing each other for like three or four days but our relationship is good, so yeah so I can’t complain.

“I’m happy and I believe she’s happy – fingers crossed.”
