When does Treasure Island with Bear Grylls start?

Treasure Island will make its return to Channel 4 on September 8.

The daringly bold show will kick off its new season with a 9pm time slot.

This will be the first time that viewers will get to know all the new contestants who will be taking part on an adventure they certainly won’t forget.

There will be a whopping number of 12 contestants competing for the ultimate prize, but it should be noted that a few things have changed for the new series.

You can catch any of the episodes on All4 if you happen to miss them when they’re on television

Has the format changed this season?

This time around, the stakes are much higher for the new season as £100,000 will be hidden across the island.

All 12 contestants will embark on a challenge to not only survive the gruelling experience but also have their limits pushed to the extreme while searching for the “treasure.”

The twist: if any of the Islanders, who find the sum of money, decide to leave early, the money stays and they will leave empty-handed.

And only those who have remained on the show from the beginning and stuck through the ordeal will keep their share of the prize money they find.

Fans are already wondering whether this means that contestants will sabotage one another in order to get ahead and leave the so-called weak behind.

It’s also been speculated whether or not Islanders will work as a team in order to bank as much cash as they can, making the format that much more interesting for the new series.

Bear Grylls explained that “this radical new twist on the Island experience will test whether human nature really is ruled by the quest for financial gain, or whether co-operation and altruism in the face of adversity can bring their own reward.”
