Tommy is well-known for chain-smoking and heavy drinking throughout the show as he struggles to deal with PTSD from the war.
Now fans are worried it may be catching up with him – and he’ll be killed off in a devastating shock twist.
One fan said: “I might be overthinking things but Tommy is starting to cough. Are the ciggies catching up with him?”
Another added: “Big man tommy has got that lovely smokers cough let’s hope he’s not got lung cancer #PeakyBlinders.”
Someone else said: “Also, not to make y’all panic but I noticed Tommy’s persistent cough and it looks like an unfortunate sign, so uh can they please let my selfish gangster live a long and happy life.”
Another viewer added: “Anyone else very concerned about the subtle, but I think important, introduction of Tommy Shelby’s cough? I think he is going to be struck down. Possibly by the 10 million cigarettes he’s had in the making of this programme. #PeakyBlinders.”
A fan insisted: “Can’t kill off Tommy Shelby yet with this cough.
