A HEARTLESS cop who downloaded four porn films for £25 on a grieving couple’s TV while guarding the body of their dead 14-year-old son has been jailed for 12 months.
Avi Maharaj, 44, downloaded the X-rated content at the house in south London while waiting for an undertaker.

Graham and Allison Miller wrongly believed their son Harry had been watching the porn films before he killed himself on February 11 last year.
Pc Maharaj was supposed to be guarding the house at the time and waiting for the undertaker to take the body away when he used the family’s Virgin Media account to download the porn costing £25.96.
He then falsified his attendance logs, claiming he left the property almost two hours earlier than he really did as part of a cunning ploy to cover up his actions.
Mr Miller said Maharaj’s actions had initially “upset” his image of his son, adding it “made me feel like I didn’t know my own son”.
HEARTLESS
Sentencing Maharaj at Southwark Crown Court today, Judge Deborah Taylor said: “All right-thinking people would be appalled by your gross lack of decency and respect in indulging yourself at all in those circumstances.”
The boy’s father only realised his son was not responsible for the downloads when he contacted Virgin Media and was told what time the clips were downloaded.
Maharaj, who was based in Earlsfield, South West London, tried claiming he had already left the house when the videos were downloaded but eventually admitted his heartless crime.

The officer had guessed the pin number using a generic code the family hadn’t bothered changing when they got the account.
Edmund Gritt, mitigating, said the defendant “expressed his wholly ashamed apologies to the Miller family”.
Mr Gritt said there will be a special case hearing on September 9 and it was “inevitable” he will be dismissed.
