CORONATION Street fans rejoiced this evening – after Eileen Grimshaw’s boyfriend Jan left without her, meaning she’ll have to stay put in Weatherfield.

Jan left the cobbles to start a new life in witness protection – and Eileen was due to leave with him.

Eileen was left furious that Sean told Jan to leave her

But after speaking to Eileen’s pal Sean Tully, Jan decided to get out of Weatherfield on his own.

That means Eileen will be staying on the street for the forseeable future – and fans at home couldn’t be more thrilled.

One wrote on Twitter: “So glad Eileen isn’t leaving!”

Another said: “I think Eileen would’ve regretted going!”

Jan is now in witness protection

A third wrote: “Corrie wouldn’t be the same without Eileen!”

A fourth quipped: “OMG YASSS QUEEN! Eileen is staying!”

A fifth said: “Poor Eileen. So unlucky in love.”

Last monnth, Corrie fans saw Jan reveal himself to be a police informant who was helping the cops nail people trafficker, Rachel Healy.

Sean has been blamed for ruining Eileen’s life

Shortly after, the Polish builder was shot in front of a horrified Eileen and left for dead by twisted Rachel.

A source told the Daily Star: “Jan is one of the main witnesses in the police case against the human traffickers.

“They had no idea that he was working as a police informant and all trusted him.

!So it’s no wonder that Rachel wants him dead.”
