Art fans have to squeeze between two naked people to get into Royal Academy exhibition

ART lovers could get rubbed up the wrong way at a new exhibition — as they have to squeeze past two naked people to get in.

The Royal Academy of Arts is currently looking for participants to form the “nude doorway”.

The nude doorway aroused controversy the last time it popped up in a museum

It will be a recreation of a controversial art installation by Marina Abramovic which led to cops arriving.

The Serb and then-lover Ulay stood naked opposite each other as visitors pushed between them in Bologna, Italy, in 1977.

The new London show’s curator Andrea Tarsia said: “When it was first performed some people just stood back.

“They couldn’t quite handle it and weren’t entirely sure of what they were seeing. Some went through. Some fairly charged through. A few went through a number of times, actually.”

The Royal Academy of Art isn’t alone in being non-PG

Punters can choose to walk round the naked living doorframe when the show comes to Mayfair next year.

It will be a celebration of the work of Abramovic, 72, who will help oversee the selection of the nude participants.

  • A SCULPTURE which “suggests the smell of breastmilk” is on display at a London gallery in an exhibition exploring what it means to be human.
